Aspiring to Farm Business Ownership Action Groups
We're looking to form three Aspiring to Farm Ownership Action Groups aimed at individuals or couples interested in owning a sheep and beef farm business.
We know through our work with RMPP Action Network that small facilitated groups are a powerful way of supporting each other to make things happen. Farmers involved in Action groups tell us that "its great having like-minded people to bounce ideas off; its great to have a facilitator to guide you to achieve your goals; being able to help and support each other certainly makes a difference."
Each Action Group will be limited to seven to nine individuals (partners are welcome to be included). The groups will be led by their members and supported by a trained facilitator who will guide the group and help identify experts who can share knowledge and ideas needed to achieve the goal of sheep and beef farm ownership.
Groups will participate in activities four-six times per year, activities will be determined by the group.
Each Action group is eligible for funding of $2,000 per individual/couple which is pooled into a group fund to pay for a facilitator and expert advice. Each individual/couple is also required to contribute $400 + GST to the group fund, RMPP will invoice for this, the invoice is required to be paid upon commencement of the Action Group.
At this stage we are looking to set up groups in the Lower North Island and Lower South Island only.
Note: You can only join one Action Group, this means if you are already a member of an RMPP Action Network Action Group then you will be unable to join an Aspiring to Farm Ownership Action Group.
